Lyrebird Health presents as a mature, credible clinical-AI SaaS with one of the cleaner conversion paths we audit: transparent pricing, a genuine free tier, and a three-field signup sitting one click from the hero. Trust is a clear strength — named clinicians, hard outcome numbers and an explicit compliance area. The biggest opportunity is message clarity for first-time visitors: the hero leads with a vision statement (“The connective layer for the whole of care”) rather than the category the buyer is searching for — an AI medical scribe.

What this site is

What they do
Lyrebird Health is an Australian clinical AI platform (ambient AI medical scribe) that captures consultations, writes clinical notes, letters, referrals, certificates and care plans, and reads and writes back to the clinician's EMR. It sells to GPs, specialists, practice owners and enterprise health organisations across Australia, the UK and the US.
Who it is for
Australian GPs, medical specialists, practice owners/managers, and enterprise healthcare organisations
Sectors
Healthcare technology, clinical documentation, ambient AI / medical scribe software
What they sell
A subscription clinical AI platform: ambient AI scribe plus documents/letters, care plans, authority scripts, practice & team management, and EMR integrations. Free tier, Pro at $200 per user/month (billed annually), and a custom Teams plan.
Conversion event
Self-serve free account signup (Start for free), with a secondary Book a demo / Contact sales path
Proof on hand
Named clinician testimonial (Dr Nick Carr, St Kilda Medical Group); outcome statistics (80% reduction in post-consult documentation time; 88%, 84%, 68%); positioning claims ("#1 tool for Australian general practice", "most deployed AVT solution for the NHS", "Trusted by thousands of clinicians"); case studies, research and customers sections; dedicated Compliance area.
Buyer facts found
Transparent pricing ($0 Free / $200 per user/month Pro billed annually / Custom Teams); what each plan includes; 14-day trial; free tier; EMR/Best Practice integration; Australian compliance positioning; email (support@lyrebirdhealth.com) and live chat.
Buyer facts missing
Source/sample size for the headline outcome statistics; a sales phone number or physical address on the Contact page; explicit "AI medical scribe" category wording above the fold on the homepage.
Machine readability
Content is fully server-rendered and extractable without JavaScript; single H1, canonical, meta description and Organization JSON-LD present; but only Organization schema exists (no Product/Offer or FAQPage), and there is no llms.txt. robots.txt does not block AI crawlers.

For a clinician who already knows what an ambient AI scribe is, this site converts efficiently and earns trust quickly. The value at stake is the cold or comparison visitor who arrives from a search or a colleague’s tip and needs to confirm, in five seconds, that Lyrebird is the scribe category they are evaluating. Sharpening the hero and sourcing the outcome statistics would lift the two weakest categories without disturbing the parts already working well.

How each score was reached

Nav Detail binds here.

Navigation & findability — 8.0 / 10

A clear, conventional top navigation with the money-path items where buyers expect them.

  • Persistent desktop nav covers Product, Solutions, Integrations, Resources, Compliance, Pricing, with Login, Start free, Contact us pinned top-right.
  • Pricing is a first-class navigation item rather than buried — a strong signal for comparison shoppers.
  • On mobile the header collapses to a hamburger with no persistent CTA button; the primary action survives only because the hero “Start for free” sits above the fold.

Message clarity (ICP fit) — 7.5 / 10

Sharp audience signals, but the hero names a vision rather than the product category.

  • Strong ICP framing: “PURPOSE-BUILT. FOR CLINICIANS. BY CLINICIANS.” and “The #1 tool for Australian general practice”.
  • The hero headline “The connective layer for the whole of care.” is abstract; a first-time visitor must read the subhead to learn the product captures consults and writes back to the EMR.
  • Deeper pages are far more concrete, for example “For Australian GPs seeking admin relief.”

Trust & credibility — 8.5 / 10

Named, specific, locally-grounded proof and a visible compliance posture.

  • Named clinician testimonial: “Lyrebird has completely changed the way I interact with my patients in so many positive ways” — Dr Nick Carr, St Kilda Medical Group.
  • Authority claims tied to real markets: “The most deployed AVT solution for the NHS” and “Trusted by thousands of clinicians”.
  • Compliance is a dedicated navigation item — important for a buyer handling clinical data.

Proof depth — 7.5 / 10

Compelling numbers and case material, but the headline statistics are unsourced on the page.

  • Specific outcome metrics: “80% reduction in post-consult documentation time” and “88% clinician-reported improvement in note quality”.
  • Resources include Customers, Research and Case Studies — useful supporting depth.
  • No visible source, sample size or study reference sits beside the percentages, which invites scepticism from evidence-minded clinical and enterprise buyers.

Conversion path — 8.5 / 10

One of the lower-friction B2B SaaS paths we see: transparent pricing and a fast self-serve start.

  • The primary CTA is above the fold on both desktop and mobile: “Start for free”, one click to signup.
  • Signup is a single screen of three fields — Email, First and last name, Password — then “Join for Free”; just one domain hop (website to app).
  • Risk is removed up front with a real free tier (“$0 — Free for everyone”) and a “Try it for 14 days” Pro trial, plus a “Book a Demo” option for guided buyers.

AI readability — 8.9 / 10

Answer engines can read and extract this site well; the gap is richer structured data.

  • Readable without JavaScript: 3/3 — the full hero, navigation, statistics and pricing are returned in server-rendered HTML.
  • Buyer facts extractable: 3/3 — plan names, prices, inclusions and outcome statistics are all present as text.
  • Structured data present: 1/2 — valid Organization JSON-LD only; no Product/Offer or FAQPage schema despite on-page pricing and FAQs.
  • Non-form contact channel: 1/1 — support@lyrebirdhealth.com plus a live chat widget.
  • Raw subtotal 8/9, scaled to 8.9/10; crawl-policy deduction 0 (robots.txt does not block answer engines, and no llms.txt is present).

Worth fixing

Message clarity

Name the category in the hero — say “AI medical scribe” above the fold

The homepage leads with a vision statement rather than the product category. A clinician arriving cold from a search or a colleague's tip has to read the subhead to work out that Lyrebird is an ambient AI scribe that writes into the EMR. Buyers who already know the category convert fine, but first-time and comparison visitors spend their first seconds decoding the metaphor instead of confirming fit — a clarity tax on exactly the visitors a homepage should win fastest.

The connective layer for the whole of care.

View the page

What to do

  • Add a plain-language category descriptor within the hero (for example an eyebrow or subhead line naming “AI medical scribe” or “ambient clinical documentation”) so the product is unmistakable in five seconds.
  • Keep the aspirational “connective layer” line as the emotional hook, but pair it with the concrete what-it-is.
  • Borrow the sharper language already used deeper in the site, such as “admin relief” and “notes, letters and care plans before your consult ends.”
  • A/B test the current hero against a category-first variant and measure scroll-past and signup-start rates.

Worth fixing

Conversion path

Give the mobile header a persistent CTA

On desktop the header keeps Login, Start free and Contact us in view at all times. At mobile width (tested at 375×812) the header collapses to just the logo and a hamburger, so once a visitor scrolls past the hero the primary action is only reachable by opening the menu — a recognition-over-recall cost (Nielsen Norman heuristic #6) on the device where much clinician browsing happens. The hero CTA carries it for now, but every screen below the fold loses the one-tap path to signup.

Start free

View the page

What to do

  • Add a compact “Start free” button to the mobile header beside the hamburger, or a sticky bottom CTA bar that appears after the hero scrolls out of view.
  • Keep the tap target comfortably above the minimum size and clear of the browser chrome.
  • Confirm the change at 375×812 and on a real handset, checking the CTA stays visible through the full scroll.

Worth checking

Proof depth

Source the outcome statistics on the page

The site leads with strong, specific numbers, but no visible source, sample size or study reference sits beside them. Clinical and enterprise buyers are trained to ask “measured how, and on whom?” Unsourced percentages can read as marketing rather than evidence, and in a healthcare context can even raise a compliance eyebrow. Attaching provenance turns a claim into proof and strengthens the strongest part of the pitch.

80% reduction in post-consult documentation time

View the page

What to do

  • Add a short source note or footnote next to each headline statistic (study, survey, sample size and date).
  • Link the numbers to the Research or Case Studies section where the methodology can be read in full.
  • Where a figure is from a customer survey rather than a controlled study, say so plainly — candour builds more trust than a bare percentage.
  • Keep a single source of truth for these figures so the homepage, For GPs and case studies stay consistent.

Worth checking

Machine readability

Add Product/Offer and FAQ schema, and publish an llms.txt

The site is already highly readable to AI answer engines — content is server-rendered and the buyer facts are all in text — but the only structured data present is an Organization graph. There is no Product/Offer schema over the transparent pricing and no FAQPage schema over the FAQ content, and no llms.txt. As answer engines increasingly mediate discovery, marking up pricing and FAQs makes Lyrebird's facts more likely to be surfaced accurately and attributed, rather than paraphrased from prose.

"@type": "Organization"

View the page

What to do

  • Add Product/Offer (or SoftwareApplication with offers) JSON-LD reflecting the Free, Pro and Teams tiers and their prices.
  • Add FAQPage schema to the FAQ pages so questions and answers are machine-extractable.
  • Publish an llms.txt pointing answer engines to the highest-value pages (product, pricing, compliance, FAQs).
  • Validate the markup in a structured-data testing tool and keep prices in sync with the pricing page.

Keep doing

Conversion path

Keep the transparent free tier and the three-field signup

The conversion path is a genuine strength and a competitive advantage in a category where many rivals hide pricing behind a demo request. Prices are published, a real free tier removes the risk of trying, and signup is a single screen of three fields one click from the hero. This is exactly what a ready-to-act clinician and a price-checking practice owner both want, and it should be protected as the site evolves.

Free for everyone

View the page

What to do

  • Keep publishing indicative per-user pricing and the free tier rather than gating everything behind a demo.
  • Resist adding fields to the signup form; if more data is needed, collect it after first value inside the app.
  • Keep the annual/monthly toggle and the “Save 33%” framing, and monitor signup-start to activation to protect the funnel.

Keep doing

Trust & credibility

Keep leading with named clinician proof and local authority

Trust is built the right way here: real, named clinicians rather than anonymous quotes, authority claims tied to specific markets (Australian general practice and the NHS), and a compliance area given first-class navigation. For a product handling clinical data, this named, local, compliance-forward proof is what lets a cautious buyer take the next step, and it differentiates Lyrebird from generic AI tooling.

Lyrebird has completely changed the way I interact with my patients in so many positive ways

View the page

What to do

  • Keep attributing testimonials to named clinicians and practices, ideally with role and location.
  • Continue giving Compliance prominent navigation and keep its documentation current.
  • Expand the named case studies over time, pairing each quote with a concrete before/after outcome.

Methodology and limitations

How this review was run

This is a UX and content review of Lyrebird Health’s Australian site, experienced from the perspective of four different visitors: a first-time clinician, a clinician ready to start, a practice owner comparing options, and an AI assistant reading the site.

We ran a content and structure review of the key pages, then walked the primary conversion path — starting a free account — in a live browser at both desktop (1440×900) and mobile (375×812) widths, scoring the experience against established Nielsen Norman usability heuristics and recording friction such as clicks, page hops and how far a visitor must scroll to reach the main action. We also scored how readable the site is to AI answer engines.

Pages reviewed: the homepage, the For GPs product page, Pricing, Book a demo, Contact us, and the account signup screen. We also checked robots.txt and the sitemap.

One caveat: this is a UX and content review, not a page-speed or accessibility audit. For performance measurement we recommend Google PageSpeed Insights.
